Blog 23rd March

Spent the week helping an amazing group of people organise volunteers for Devizes. We could have just done it for our church, but within the family we have people who think big and we have gone town wide. Couldn’t have done it without the help of the Town Council and Wiltshire Council, who have been awesome. Things have simply been done because they needed to be done. I have been humbled by the brain power, hard work and brilliance of those who are working on this. We are learning as we go. I have found it particularly helpful because every time I began to panic I was able to get on with something. But what about those who are having to self-isolate, those who are looking after the vulnerable who aren’t able to immerse themselves in some all-consuming project?

Guys, we have to get creative, particularly for those who are not digitally minded. Phone’s are good, doing stuff all together is good, eg a candle in the window, praying at 5 pm for the government etc. Lets get our idea’s out there. Sending a card or present in the post, just to say I am thinking of you, give me a call just for a chat. There must be a million good ideas. But don’t forget the 2 m rule.

NEW BOOK: OUT 12TH AUGUST
David and Abigail's story as told by her handmaidens.
Radiant
In this compelling account of Abigail and David’s romance, author Kirsty A. Wilmott provides an in-depth look at the life and struggles of her characters. Surrounded by handmaidens, Abigail is both instigator of her destiny as well as victim of her circumstances – a woman who understands what is needed for her and her family to survive – and who fearlessly acts to protect them. Those closest to Abigail tell the heartachingly beautiful story of two lovers struggling under the pressures of a kingdom not yet established and the ensuing political pragmatism that ultimately tears them apart.
