We’ve had a week off and it has been bliss. Back in harness on Monday and lots to catch up on. This is the first time I’ve opened my lap top because we were staying in a Landmark Trust property where there was no TV or wifi!

In Colchester, the oldest city steeped in Roman remains and some fascinating history.

Having time to think and talk has been a joy and though COVID still effects everything we do, we have still managed to enjoy a lot. There is a sense of being on the cusp of something new. Book sales have slowed but I am hoping for an increase in Reading Group contacts. And I am going to spend some time next week seeking an agent. I am out of my depth with respect to contracts and expectations.

So nothing deep and meaningful this week. Just the acknowledgement of the everyday nature of being a writer.

NEW BOOK: OUT 12TH AUGUST
David and Abigail's story as told by her handmaidens.
Radiant
In this compelling account of Abigail and David’s romance, author Kirsty A. Wilmott provides an in-depth look at the life and struggles of her characters. Surrounded by handmaidens, Abigail is both instigator of her destiny as well as victim of her circumstances – a woman who understands what is needed for her and her family to survive – and who fearlessly acts to protect them. Those closest to Abigail tell the heartachingly beautiful story of two lovers struggling under the pressures of a kingdom not yet established and the ensuing political pragmatism that ultimately tears them apart.
