Saturday 4th June 22

So much for having a bit more discipline in my life! I didn’t even realise it was Saturday, and have not touched my beloved lap top for nearly a week. I was determined to start something new, something different, but I feel like one of Jane Autsten’s well meaning heroines, so easily distracted by the lightest of trifles. Let us instead simply gaze at this marvellous sunset, or sip this pretty red wine or read my new favourite author Barbara Pym. I am currently reading her Jane and Prudence. Amusing and sharp, and though written just after the war her style is almost modern in its straightforwardness. When reading an author so easily admired I swing wildly from ‘I could do that,’ to ‘This is too good, so what is the point of trying!’

You really do have to simply sit down and write, a little everyday. It is surprising how quickly something develops from an hour a day. And once you have something you can really get your teeth into then 1 hour easily becomes five or eight. JUST WRITE!

One of those captivating sunsets!

NEW BOOK: OUT 12TH AUGUST
David and Abigail's story as told by her handmaidens.
Radiant
In this compelling account of Abigail and David’s romance, author Kirsty A. Wilmott provides an in-depth look at the life and struggles of her characters. Surrounded by handmaidens, Abigail is both instigator of her destiny as well as victim of her circumstances – a woman who understands what is needed for her and her family to survive – and who fearlessly acts to protect them. Those closest to Abigail tell the heartachingly beautiful story of two lovers struggling under the pressures of a kingdom not yet established and the ensuing political pragmatism that ultimately tears them apart.
