Perspective – you get that when you get a bit of distance between you and the issue, problem, moment. I couldn’t climb mountains as the others did up on Skye, as my back and knee were not happy. I had to content myself with walking from the house, wondering whether I’d gone too far etc. But though I couldn’t go up them, I could gaze in wonder from afar at the distant Cuillins, at the water of the Loch, at the splashes of colour from the bluebells, louse wort, celandine etc The changes in view, colour, sky, waves, was constant and really rather lovely. Bits of me aren’t working well but my eyes are!

Malmesbury Abbey book signing went well. It was fun, there was coffee, and people asked me questions about my books. I’m happy to do it again, anywhere.
