There is a large gap between blogs because I kept waiting for a profound thought to occur to me. I am distressed to discover that such moments are few and far between. So far  – while out walking the dog, that rain is loud. I haven’t been outside in a downpour for quite a while, I’m amazed how easily I have managed to avoid getting wet by dashing between things. (An interesting thought all by itself.) So I embraced the stair rods; it really was quite heavy rain. Vertical and drippy. But of course I was going back to a warm-dry house and I could enjoy the experience while wearing a waterproof coat. From here I guess I could start counting blessings, (there are many for which I am profoundly grateful), but do you know I think I’m going to stay with rain is loud

And at no point was I tempted to take my hat off!
