Monday 28th Feb 22 Proper Blog!

Feel I need to write a proper blog. It was just impossible doing it on my phone. The hen weekend went really well, the house luxurious, the weather cold but sunny and the food relentlessly plentiful and very very good. Two of the party even went swimming in the sea. It is supposed to be really really good for you but it does not appeal. Now if they could invent a portable instant drying machine then I’d probably be happy to give it a go! That probably says more about me than I’d like you to know. It’s a wedding a lot of us our really looking forward to.

Tomorrow I’m off to Malmesbury Abbey Book Shop. They are going to take some of Falling Tide. I am really pleased. One book at a time. Drip drip drip, though I don’t think I’ll be paying tax anytime soon.

I don’t normally comment on the world situation. I never feel I know enough about it to have an opinion, but I was moved to tears listening to Woman’s Hour when they interviewed a number of women from the Ukraine. It was all horrible, but a child having his name and blood group pinned to his clothes just in case, made me want to curl into a ball and howl. We live in an incredibly beautiful world but the cruelty of humans can be breathtaking and Putin is becoming a dictator of the worst kind. When you can’t reason with someone, then it becomes really terrifying.
