This morning we walked to Cadgwith and ate fish chowder. It’s only a mile and a half across the cliffs, and worth every step. The chowder and the views up and down the coast. Its the pub where Tom takes Anna to get away from the Lizard and the latest murder in book 3, Missing You. The pub he hopes to take his mother to in Falling Tide and I think is mentioned in book 1, Watching You Fall. If it isn’t, then it ought to have been. It’s a really good pub, the Cadgwith Cove Inn. It also does an incredible beefburger, but you’ve got to have room.
Yesterday we walked round to the point, and saw dolphins, seals, (hauled up on a tiny beach, so a splendid view), and chuffs. They were just over a wall. Almost didn’t need the bino’s.
This morning it was a gannet morning. First thing they flew from left to right, much closer in than usual so they were easy to see. Such spectacular birds. I wonder if they fly right to left at the end of their day?
Now the weather is drawing in and we’re back in the cottage allowing the place and God to smooth out some of the accumulated wrinkles from the last couple of years. There are a lot, so it might take some time!
