In the Lakes, with our grandson. There is such joy in the simple things – how a puzzle fits together, a brick fits one on top of another, the noise of the dishwasher or simply being chased and caught.

I am an over-complicater of life. I am often disappointed because my expectations are a little too high. So I’m going to learn from our boy. I’m going to sip my coffee and not slurp it down. I’m going to wake up and look at the morning light as it spills into our bedroom and breathe before I jump out of bed. I’m going to sip a glass of wine and wonder at its taste or a glass of water. I’m going to wonder at the moment instead of worrying about tomorrow or regretting what happened yesterday. It’s been said before and will be said again, but it’s worth saying until we really get the hang of this.

Oh yes, and the paper back will be out in the next couple of weeks.

NEW BOOK: OUT 12TH AUGUST
David and Abigail's story as told by her handmaidens.
Radiant
In this compelling account of Abigail and David’s romance, author Kirsty A. Wilmott provides an in-depth look at the life and struggles of her characters. Surrounded by handmaidens, Abigail is both instigator of her destiny as well as victim of her circumstances – a woman who understands what is needed for her and her family to survive – and who fearlessly acts to protect them. Those closest to Abigail tell the heartachingly beautiful story of two lovers struggling under the pressures of a kingdom not yet established and the ensuing political pragmatism that ultimately tears them apart.
